Jonathan Morgan up to his old tricks again?

on Wednesday, 19 November 2008

Has Vaughan Roderick been fed another load of codswallop? Writing on his blog today, he claimed:

"Well, the Conservative offices in the Assembly aren't happy places at the moment. There are several reasons. There's uneasiness with Nick Bourne's leadership and his alleged tendency to use party staff like little personal servants is partly responsible. His effort to blame staff for the contents of a document that he himself had approved is unpopular. Some members are also angry regarding what they see as Nick's lack of loyalty to Alun Cairns during his recent challenges."

In whose interests is this story? Nick Bourne's? His staff's? No, there is only one person who stands to gain, so who is behind it? Answer: Jonathan Morgan.

And while this story is useful for tittle tattle on blogs and for journalists, there's an element of hyperbole about this whole story. The Conservative benches never were a particularly happy place, even pre-2007, but it is true that their new role as official opposition has exposed them as not particularly effective or united. But these internal wranglings are nothing new: remember the Glyn Davies v Nick Bourne battle?

I don't see why it's outrageous Glyn, you and Bourne weren't exactly the best of political friends, were you?
