This article in the Western Mail, confirms my previous suspicions that the Liberal Democrats may take advantage of the problems in the One Wales coalition to form a new Lib-Lab pact.
Speaking hours after Ms Williams launched her manifesto, Ms Randerson said the party needed someone who could negotiate the Lib Dems’ return to Government if the Labour-Plaid coalition collapses.
She said her experience as a minister in the first Labour-Lib Dem coalition had given her crucial experience.
She said: “[Party members] could well be electing someone who might be in the cabinet and Deputy First Minister within a few months’ time.
“The situation is not as stable as we had taken it to be.
“You have got to have someone at the helm who can steer the ship in these circumstances. It might be no time for an apprenticeship.”
Entering government again could have major advantages for the Welsh Liberal Democrats including the chance to implement their policies and make themselves relevant in Welsh politics again. Watch out Plaid Cymru, you could be turfed out of your ministerial chairs...

This would be a disaster for Lib Dems. Not that I mind - I think it would be bad for the Welsh people too.
Welsh Labour - bar its MPs at westminster - seems to be comitted to further devolved powers and works well with Plaid.
The liberals would be damaged in the Westminster elections - the Tories might be further strengthened if Lib Dems too associated with labour.
Rubbish - if Plaid stay in government with Labour after this it shows the level of their integrity.
They can;t be as much of a disaster as Plaid Cymru - they can't point to anything they have achieved in the last year and a half.
Plaid can't get a Welsh Language LCO, an Affordable Housing LCO or a referendum on more powers. That pretty much makes *them* the devo-sceptic party in Wales.
There is the theory of course that Labour will give this away in return for a referendum, which i also expect they are struggling with.
Come on! Labour aren't going to give the referendum away in return for not getting the housing powers - they're not really in the same league are they?
Plaid are kidding themselves if they think that's going to happen.
Jenny 'Battery Acid' Randerson is a nasty piece work - she is right-wing and basically a Tory. The Welsh people should be very wary of this woman becoming Leader - she is Cameroonian in all but name.
It has to be Kirsty for the Lib Dems to get anywhere. She is compassionate and progressive and is appealing to voters, Compare her youthful bubbliness in comparison to old Battery Acid!
How can this Randerson woman talk about the future - she is too old to see through any change agenda in my mind.
It's disturbing to see how much these Lib Dems really hate each other. It's rather ironic that the most bitter Lib Dem haters are... (you guessed it) Lib Dems.
Why? Because nobody else cares.
I suppose Plaid will point to the failure of being able to achieve much under the current feeble assembly arrangement, and argue that full-lawmaking powers are needed. If it's good for Scotland - why not Wales, Cornwall, and England?
