Bizarrely, Llais Gwynedd are opposing measures to encourage young people who have left Gwynedd to return to home. What are these people about? Are they really the voice of Gwynedd or are they just new Labour in disguise?
GWYNEDD Council has been slammed for creating a ... post aimed at encouraging ex-pats to return home.
The council’s board supported plans to create a post to encourage former locals, who now live in cities such as London and Cardiff, to move back to North Wales.
...Llais Gwynedd councillor Gwilym Euros said: “I am very supportive of seeing people who have left Gwynedd coming back into the country, having said that, I don’t think it is the council’s place to be doing that."

I opposed the proposal to fund this part-time post at a cost of £25k per annum for three years at the Board meeting of Cyngor Gwynedd as did the independants on the Board and Plaid voted 7-6 in favor.
This is not good use of public money in the current economic climate and I will make an alternative proposal when the matter is next discussed. In the past 10 months hundreds of people currently living in Gwynedd have lost their jobs added to one of the highest numbers of economic inactivity for any county in Wales, we have plenty of problems that need solving before this. I would welcome anyone back to Gwynedd with open arms HOWVER this proposal smacks of fiddling while Rome is burning and the people living here right now deserve better, expect better and are pretty angry that such a half-cooked idea could see the light of day.
Such a move is long overdue: well done Gwynedd Council. There may be other worries at the moment but this is a very positive measure which should be welcomed whatever the economic climate. I would go far as to say that those who have lived outside of Gwynedd will be able to bring new skills back to the county, which it needs, which will in fact be a boost to the economy.
People angry about such a move? Tynna'r goes arall, myn uffern i.
This is exactly what Gwynedd needs - to attract the talent back home - for too long the cream of Gwynedd have fled for better pay in the cities, they are the perfect people to take Gwynedd forward if only they were IN Gwynedd! Who knows, they may even bring their children with them to fill the schools - there's an area where common sense may save a lot more than 25k a year!
Llais Gwynedd's objection demonstrates how intellectually limited these councillors are, especially Aeron Jones, who is unfortunately my local councillor. This is a man to whom truth and integrity are empty words.
This move is needed in order to attract talented, educated people back to Gwynedd. I am one of the few university-educated people in my year to return to Gwynedd and even this fact is only because my work is done at Aberystwyth University; the vast majority of my peers are working in the Cardiff-Swansea area.
At the moment, most of those with the ability to get out, go away from Gwynedd. Any healthy economy needs a mix of skilled and unskilled workers - skilled workers are in short supply in Gwynedd.
That Aeron Jones thinks that creating jobs and houses is all that is required to solve the economic problem demonstrates his inability and economic immaturity. The jobs must be the right kind of jobs if they are to attract skilled young people to Gwynedd.
But that job creation depend on the ability to attract people to Gwynedd. That is what this job is about. But Aeron Jones prefers jumping on the bandwagon to denounce Plaid Cymru for creating this job.
The actual job description is very sensible, once you ignore the denunciation of the Daily Post and their ilk.
As an economic consultant, I hope that Gwilym Euros recognizes the sound reasoning behind this job, and steps down out of Llais Gwynedd's glass house.
What fucking planet do these imbeciles live on ?!
Galla i byw le fi'n moin, pryd fi'n moin, gyda pwy fi'n moin..
And there's not a fucking thing anyone can do about it...
Earth calling Wales...
Llais Gwynedd are busted flush: disorganised, divided liars, full of smear and dirty politics, rapidly becoming a laughing stock even in their so-called heartland.
Good point by Rhydian Fon - this does expose Llais Gwynedd as a group of bitter ex-plaidys who weren't good enough to represent Plaid but decided to get vicious to get their hands on some (what they thought were) cushy jobs. They filled the local political discourse with base lies, stupidly simple arguements about very complex matters then completely failed to govern properly - they're closing schools for goodness sake!
Llais Gwynedd are quickly realising that councillor is not a cushy job - it's a tough job requiring great skill and understanding of economics, politics and sociology and a willingness to make tough, sometimes very unpopular decisions for the good of the majority and for the future. LlG are realising that councilor is too tough a job for them. LLG have failed, about time they were booted out.

That's a strange comment I don't think the plan aims to force people to move back only encourage them to do so - the plan seems to be to create a post that would be responsible for attracting the best talent back to Gwynedd - to reverse the age-old problem of brain drain in the region. It's a very good idea and something Wales as a whole can look at as we loose so much talent to London and the World. LlG's opposition is classic of a party that cares nothing for sense and sound economic planning and only worries about the headlines of the paper. Improving the economy of Gwynedd in the long-term will cost effort and money - LlG don't care abut that, only theuir own wage packet - they don't even care about schools now they're closing them!
We all know that Llais Gwynedd are just bitter ex-plaid - they'll vote against anything that Plaid suggest purely because of bitterness
I have asked the economic development department of Gwynedd Council about the exact numbers of redundencies that have been in Gwynedd during 2008.
I am aware that this is at least 650 by my own calculation however the figure I fear is far higher.
Now to all of you spinless "anonymous" contributors and those of you who wish to personalise this issue I pitty you. However I must make the point that priority must be given to re-training and supporting those that have and sadly those who will lose their jobs in Gwynedd.
Like I have said, I have no doubt that there are hundreds of talented people who have left Gwynedd to work all over the globe and doubtless, there are many of them who could and would make a valuable contribution both economially and socially however there are a number of things that need to put in place before that can happen.
There are some serious decisions facing the Council over the coming months however the Council also needs to put its house in order as massive savings can, should and I hope will be made in some departments without impacting directly on front line service provision.
Those of you who have left and wish to come back I am sure are more than capable to do so with out this role.
Good luck whatever you decide to do.
Gwilym, I am very surprised by your attitude to this job. Yes, support is needed for those made redundant in the current economic crisis. Most of those mad redundant lately are working in unskilled jobs and are vulnerable to any economic crisis.
But Gwynedd can't just focus on short-term support. The long-term response is about creating new jobs for these people. But an economy can't be regenerated without a variety of labour and skills.
High-skill jobs are available in Cardiff, Liverpool and London, but rare in Gwynedd, so that those who can will move to find jobs. The economic crisis makes it worse - even fewer good quality jobs in Gwynedd, so that even more young people will leave.
Llais Gwynedd's strategy seems economically weak. You champion support for those made redundant, but have not indicated any plans to create new jobs for them in the long term.
Any healthy economy needs a mix of skills and labour, in which skilled and unskilled labour create demand in sectors which employ each type of worker. If you remove skilled and professional workers, the unskilled are unemployed due to a lack of demand for basic goods and services.
This is economics at its most basic. Where do Llais Gwynedd stand?
Cyng. Gwilym Euros:
"Those of you who have left and wish to come back I am sure are more than capable to do so with out this role."
That's the point - they're not!
Any highly skilled person is leaving Gwynedd at the moment and as the economic situation worsens, the problem will be magnified - something must be done to attract the top people - only they can develop Gwynedd's economy - one way of looking at it is - they can create jobs for others!
We need entrepreneurs and experts working in Gwynedd and at the moment they're leaving. What's Llais Gwynedd's economic plan? to keep things as they are? Let things worsen? Bury heads in sand?
Come on, you're governing the County now, with Plaid - some of us like that, some of us don't - but what are you going to do? At least Plaid are offering answers.
The reason some of us are anonymous is that we live in your constituencies Mr Roberts and we know damn well what thugs and liars you are, and what happens to people who dare to question you.
I remain of the opinion that Llais G are dirty, divided, opportunistic, inept, vicious and deceitful yobs. I've seen what you do to people who dare attack you - you lie about them and smear them in newspapers and in leaflets (some of which you have to withdraw for containing barefaced lies).
So thaks very much matey, I'll stay anonymous until I'm sure you peopel can behave like politicians and not yobs.
PS - when I said 'you' in those comments I meant your party in general. I have no wish to personalise things the way your party has done in your vicious smears against people like Dafydd Iwan.
Youve brought down the level of Gwynedd politics and you'll get thumped out of your councillorships come the next elections.
