After the break

Another translation of a Vaughan Roderick post, it's strange that he didn't note the mistaken translation of the Lib Dem's HQ in his post:

Yes, the election to choose the new Welsh Liberal Democrat Leader is coming to an end. 62% of the membership had voted by yesterday. While that is a high percentage when compared to union elections etc I would have expected a better response. After all, they have some 2,500 members and the vast majority of those members are hard-working. It's of course possible that the percentage will have risen substantially before the polls close on Monday. There is a tendency in postal vote elections for people to vote straight after receiving the paper or at the last minute. By the way, I have just noticed that the party have chosen "Freedom Central" for their new Cardiff Bay HQ. Well, that's more original than "Tŷ Gwynfor" round the corner!

The BBC don't allow adverts but I'm making an exception! They're expecting your call now!

Another point about the turnout is that the 62% quoted on friday is worked out on a count of unopened envelopes, not ballot papers. So the tendency of co-habiting party members to save the postage and return their ballots in one envelope means it was probably up to 70% in reality by Friday
